Dear potential PR students,
Public relations is an industry where you can be as creative as you want, and you also meet other creative people who have the same interests of you.
It is the art of controlling information between the public and particular brands. It is all about reputation. It is about what you do, what you say and what others say about you.
It is a constantly changing profession, growing so quickly that there is always a need for more public relations professionals to fill positions. To be honest, most people in the world of PR don’t have PR degrees, but if you do, it shows that your career in public relations was no last minute decision when other opportunities failed to work out.
Still not convinced? Well keep reading because it is list time.
- You get a job right out of university. Because PR is such a quick growing industry, there are always many jobs going in PR. Previous PR graduates from Sunderland Uni have mainly all had jobs to go straight into when they have left.
- Freedom to innovate. In PR clients want visibility and are prepared to use a unique approach to cut above their competitors and other brands. This means PR’s can be as creative as they want and use their creativity to catch the public eye.
- Universal demand. There is a universal demand from companies wanting PR doing for them, and this means that there is an option to travel around the world when sticking with one company!
So, all in all, PR is a great degree to study at university, and one I have found very helpful, and I’m kinda good at it! (sorry to blow my own trumpet, but someone has to!)
Lots of love,
